When thinking about Part 3 of my series, Cholesterol and Your Health, I thought what could be better than asking other registered dietitians for their favorite salmon recipes? So I did just that. You’ll find 15 different salmon recipes below that you’re sure to love!
So why focus on salmon today? Well, salmon just happens to be a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, in addition to trout, herring, sardines and albacore tuna. Omega-3 fatty acids are a type of unsaturated fat that may help lower cholesterol, reduce blood clotting and reduce your risk of stroke and heart failure.
The American Heart Association recommends consuming two servings of fish, particularly fatty fish, each week. A serving is 3.5 ounces cooked, or about 3/4 cup (a size of a deck of cards). Try to avoid frying fish and stick with the healthy methods of cooking fish including baked, grilled or boiled. Also pay attention to the type of sauce or seasonings added to the fish and try to choose lower or no salt seasoning.
I hope you enjoy the variety of salmon recipes from salads, to burgers to grilled to perfection ideas!

This is inspiring me to cook more salmon vs. store bought with lots of sodium :)
