You all know how I love to serve fruit to my kids and thankfully they LOVE it. I recently discovered this Sir Bananas™ Bananamilk and had to give it a try since a. my kids love milk and b. my kids love bananas. And since I’ve been on a smoothie kick lately (like my Berries and Hemp Smoothie Bowl and Wild Blueberries and Pomegranate Smoothie recipes), I thought it would be fun to add this new product to a smoothie bowl for my kids.
The product itself is just milk with bananas added, yet with a delicious creamy taste. So of course it could be served as a drink itself, or added to other ingredients like I did with this smoothie bowl. But let me tell you, this milk is bananas! I’m not sure why this combination hasn’t been combined before!
I left this smoothie quite simple because I’m all about simple meals and snacks and I don’t need to take more than 5 minutes to make a snack for my kids who ALWAYS seem to be hungry. Seriously, I think they eat more than me on a daily basis! And although this smoothie bowl would be a simple breakfast idea, we prefer to enjoy our smoothies as an afternoon snack once my son is home from kindergarten.
And my daughter who can be a bit selective at times, ate this smoothie in about two minutes, which left quite a bit of evidence on her white shirt afterwards!
Dietitian’s Dish
Sir Bananas™ Bananamilk is regular 2% milk made with real bananas and contains no artificial colors or flavors. And since it’s milk, it includes 8 essential nutrients including a good source of protein, calcium and potassium. I also added ground flaxseed to the smoothie for added nutrients. Just one tablespoon of ground flaxseed contains 2 grams of polyunsaturated fatty acids (including omega-3 fats), 2 grams of fiber and 37 calories.

I'm pretty sure that's why daughter was all about the smoothie as well :) Whatever works!
