Thank you to Flatout® Flatbread for sponsoring this post.
It’s probably not hard to believe that my family is BIG on pizza. Yes, I’m a dietitian, but I’m also a busy mom of three young children.
Of course, take-out pizza is never the healthiest option (although I have nothing against take-out), so I try to get creative and serve pizza in a variety of ways.
One of my favorite ways to make pizza at home is with Flatout Flatbread.
Not only is it a much healthier alternative, but it’s also a great way to get the kids in the kitchen and let them choose their desired toppings.
As shown in several Chocolate Slopes posts like with my Mexican Taco Flatbread Pizza or my Farmers Market Roasted Vegetable Flatbread Pizza recipes, you can pretty much make any pizza imaginable with Flatout.
My kids absolutely love it because they have control over what they do or do not put on their own pizza.
Dietitian’s Dish
As you likely know I follow a realistic nutrition mindset.
I do not restrict foods or food groups but rather focus on eating a basic, nutritious diet. I also like to highlight and show how specific foods can work for just about anyone.
Flatout is an easy example since they are high in fiber and protein and have a moderate amount of calories.
For example, if you’re following Weight Watchers you’ll be happy to know that Flatout Flatbreads are all 2 to 4 SmartPoints® each.
Flatout Light wraps are 2 to 3 SmartPoints, Flatout ProteinUp CarbDown wraps are 3 SmartPoints, and Flatout Artisan Thin Pizza Crust are 4 SmartPoint.
Even if you’re not following Weight Watchers you can have peace of mind knowing you’re making a good choice when choosing these flatbreads.
What is your favorite way to make pizza a healthier option? I’d love to hear your ideas!

I used to use flatout bread all the time to make homemade pizza. I can't find the GF one though and since I was diagnosed I haven't been able to find a suitable replacement.

Hi Megan - I'm sorry to hear that. Have you tried using the Flatout Finder? The link is in my post below the recipe. If it's not available in your area you can always try to request it from your local grocery store. Hope that helps. Good luck!
