This Frozen Hot Chocolate is a perfect delicious decadent beverage for any New Year’s Eve celebration!
I hope you all have a fantastic New Year’s Eve whether it’s attending a glamorous gala, going to a friend’s house party or just relaxing in the comforts of your own home.
Personally, Dan and I will be relaxing at home watching Michigan State beat Alabama in the Cotton Bowl!
We typically enjoy going out and celebrating on New Year’s Eve with friends.
However, we are still recovering from this awful illness (cold/flu) that swept through our whole family.
And the thought of being out past midnight with three young children sounds a little less than desirable at this point.
Regardless, we’ll have our own mini celebration a bit before midnight when Michigan State wins!
Now you may be thinking isn’t “Frozen” Hot Chocolate an oxymoron?
It sounds a bit like it, I agree.
However, Google likes popular words and “Frozen Hot Chocolate” apparently is one of them.
I personally would just call it a chocolate shake or a ridiculously decadent chocolate drink…really it’s up to you.
I created this frozen chocolate drink using the Nutri Ninja® Auto-iQ™ Pro Compact System.
It comes with two 24 ounce Nutri Ninja Tritan Cups with two Sip & Seal Lids, one 24 ounce stainless steel Nutri Ninja Cup and a 40-ounce blend & prep bowl with dough/chopping blade.
I used the stainless steel cup to make the frozen hot chocolate.
It also came with a 30 recipe inspiration guide which is where I got my inspiration to make this frozen chocolate drink.
You can easily make this for children just make it sans alcohol.
But if you’d like to spice things up a bit for adults, adding Irish cream to the drink would be amazing!
The additional cups that are included in this Nutri Ninja would be great for making smoothies.
They are great since they come with lids no need to even pour them into another cup.
Next up on my list to make is cookie dough using the dough/chop blade (how fun!).
Overall this Nutri Ninja system is amazingly versatile, and much more powerful than our old blender.
The only downside was how noisy it was but anything with an 1100-watt motor is going to be noisy.
If you’re curious about the cookies in the picture, the funky-looking brown ones are my all-time favorite Chinese New Year Cookies, along with sugar cookies (from a cookie exchange) and chocolate bark.
I hope everyone has a fantastic New Year’s Eve! Cheers to 2016!!
