This Mexican Taco Flatbread Pizza is a favorite go-to recipe of mine that takes only 10 minutes to prep. And is full of nutritious ingredients that will definitely leave you feeling satisfied!
I seriously could eat pizza daily. It’s a hard confession to make as a dietitian sometimes, but it’s reality.
Thankfully I’ve come up with a few recipes like this delicious and nutritious Flatout® pizza. It’s not only dietitian-approved but kid-approved too!
My kids prefer to pick out each individual ingredient (at least the tomatoes and shredded cheese) and then roll up the remaining bread.
But who am I to judge, at least they’re eating it!
Now make note that this recipe calls for a pound of ground beef although only 1/2 cup is needed for the recipe.
Well anytime I have ground beef that needs to be cooked or frozen, I typically will brown the beef. Then I add taco seasoning since it’s such a great starter for any meal…like this Mexican Flatbread Pizza!
And I typically use my homemade taco seasoning that contains no sodium. And it’s super easy to make!
My husband also loves to add seasoned ground beef to refried beans, cheese and salsa and use it as a dip for tortilla chips. This is one of his favorite combos.
I’ve had a blast coming up with a variety of recipes using Flatout® Flatbread like my Honey Lemon Salmon Wraps (with garlic Greek yogurt sauce),
Chicken Sausage Mozzarella Flatbread Pizza
and Greek Chicken Wraps.
These flatbreads are not only so versatile that you can practically make any combination you prefer, but they are also nutritious and so simple to make!
And my love of sandwiches, wraps and pizza doesn’t hurt either.
Dietitian’s Dish
I’ve been on an avocado kick lately and honestly have never added them to any sandwich or even thought to make guacamole until recently.
I’m loving experimenting with them and have even made my own guacamole recipe recently (recipe coming soon).
Better late than never, right?!
And the Flatout® Flatbreads I used in this recipe also contain whole grains and 8 grams of fiber in just one flatbread. That’s about 25 percent of the recommended fiber for one day in just one meal!
