These No Bake Nut and Oat Granola Bars are the perfect healthy afternoon snack for kids and adults alike!
These bars were inspired by my friend Katie’s No Bake Nut Lover’s Bars that looked amazing and simple enough to throw together or a quick afternoon snack.
I am a sucker for anything with peanut butter and chocolate (or hazelnut spread) so it didn’t take me long to decide to make these asap!
And of course my kids love granola bars so this was a win-win snack.
Next time I make these I should probably double the batch because we ate them in one day.
Not kidding! What can I say, we love carbs in our family!
Dietitian’s Dish
I kept these nut and oat granola bars recipe close to Katie’s except with the addition of flaxseed.
I tend to add flaxseed to anything that makes sense like my Peanut Butter and Chocolate Granola Bars and Simple Homemade Granola recipes and pancake mix.
Flaxseed is rich in omega-3 fatty acids and fiber. If you haven’t purchased flaxseed before you should give it a try.
Just make sure to purchase ground flaxseed or grind it yourself. This is because your body can’t digest whole flaxseed.
