This simple Hawaiian Barbecue Pulled Pork is an amazingly simple slow cooker recipe that you and your family won’t be able to resist.
Looking for a quick meal to throw in the slow cooker and forget about it? This Hawaiian Barbecue Pulled Pork recipe takes 5 minutes to prep and about 5 minutes after it’s done cooking.
Now that’s my kind of meal.
Now, especially with the busy school year starting, meals like this make the transition just a little bit easier. Also, using a larger pork shoulder like this recipe (4 pounds), you’ll very likely have leftovers.
And I love my pulled pork in a sandwich, but you can easily add pulled pork to salad, roll it up in tortillas or serve it over roasted vegetables.
This time I paired the pulled pork with this pineapple coleslaw. And to put it in my husband’s words, “IT WAS AWESOME!”. If you’re looking for a more traditional pulled pork recipe, check out this Easy Pulled Pork recipe with a flavorful pork rub seasoning.
I’ve partnered with the Ohio Soybean Council and Ohio Pork Council to bring you this recipe and a bit more information on farms, pigs and farmers.
As you likely know from reading my other posts, I love getting to know more about where my food comes from.
Also, from what I’ve learned, farmers love to inform and educate the public on what they are actually doing on their farms. Remember, farmers eat the same food we do!
If you have any questions about farms, pigs, pork and farmers please check out the Ohio Pork Council website. It’s full of excellent information and resources.

Dietitian’s Dish
Did you know that soybeans are fed to pigs as part of a high-quality diet? And when you feed a high-quality diet to animals (like pigs), the outcome is a high-quality product like pork.
And for us humans, pork contains several important nutrients like:
- Protein
- Iron
- Zinc

- and many more!
