Red White and Blue Patriotic Poke Cake

Ingredients
  

  • 1 white cake mix box
  • 1 3-ounce jello box (blue flavor)
  • 1 3-ounce jello (red flavor)
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Whipped Topping

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 ounce cream cheese softened
  • 8 ounce container whipped topping
  • Fresh strawberries and blueberries

Instructions
 

  • Bake cake according to directions in a 9 x 13 in pan.
  • Allow cake to cool completely.
  • Poke several holes in cake with the end of a wooden spoon.
  • Make each jello flavoring with 1 cup of hot water and 1/2 cup cold water.
  • Note: this is less water than what is listed on the jello box.
  • Pour each jello carefully into holes in cake, trying to keep colors separate.
  • Refrigerate for several hours or overnight.

Whipped Topping

  • Mix cream cheese, vanilla, powdered sugar and whipped topping together until smooth.
  • Spread over top of cake.
  • Top cake with strawberries and blueberries.
